Elder/Teaching Pastor

My goal is to know Jesus more every day and to point others toward Him. I was welcomed into God’s family at the age of 9 years old at a Vacation Bible School hosted by my hometown church. I am passionate about loving our neighbors and inviting them to join God’s Family!

The Great Banquet (Luke 14:15-24) is a passage that has been instrumental in developing the culture of Family Church. We want the joy of Jesus to be evident in the lives of our members. We want to have a welcoming atmosphere for those the world has marginalized- the spiritually lost and those with physical disabilities and special needs. When I read of Jesus’ earthly ministry, these are the people that He ministered to. I’m also passionate about discipleship- teaching our members how to open their Bibles and study it for themselves. All of this can be accomplished when we allow Jesus first place in our lives. We obey Him because of our outpouring of love for Him.

I am married to Melissa and am the proud father of Autumn and Lincoln. In addition to pastoring Family Church, I teach 6th Grade Math at Van Alstyne Middle School.

I graduated with my BBA in Management (2005) and MBA in General Business (2007) from Stephen F. Austin State University- Axe’em Jacks! I graduated with my Master of Divinity from B.H. Carroll Theological Institute in 2021.

I love watching my kids play sports, fishing, hiking, and running. I love our Van Alstyne community!
